Welcome back to the return of LegendsNation.com, the premier Legends and Bandolero news media website online. Read the below letter from Jason “Stix” Buckley, President of STIX FX Entertainment (publisher of LN), about the return of the website.
Welcome to the new LegendsNation.com! I am happy to be able to relaunch the website at the start of 2015, and hope everyone is happy the website is back.
With LN being back, what will it be about? Well, let me take you back to the past before describing the present and future.
A few years ago when LN shut down, I developed a concept for the future of the website, but just didn’t have the time to place into the project to get it there. That combined with others wanting to take over as the leading news source for Legends and Bandolero racing as well as my increasing work with my STIX FX Entertainment clients forced me to shelf the concept.
At the beginning of 2014, I looked into bringing the concept back into play, but my increasing work with a specific client handling PR and marketing elements for his rising career in NASCAR kept that at bay. Also, a friend started a website to help bring some attention to the Legends and Bandolero community, and I wanted to support his efforts without competing for traffic.
Towards the end of 2014 I was looking at various options for my business. My NASCAR client would require more attention in 2015 and I had a decision to make about my business on whether to keep it or close it, working full time for that client. I made the choice to keep my business going and pass off many of those full-time NASCAR client duties (no more travel!) so I could rebuild my business. Within that plan was to bring back the concepts I developed and relaunch LegendsNation.com in 2015.
The timing to bring back LN couldn’t be better. Most Legends and Bandolero specific news media websites have moved on to other things or have posted less than 10 news stories in 2014. I have personally been contacted by many in the sport asking if I could bring the website back online to help give coverage to those still racing in it or the new generation of racers entering in. And, for my business, we are once again growing our list of website development services (design and management), and can help provide another great advertising and promotional platform for the racers coming up in the sport as well as the tracks that support USLCI / INEX.
Back to the question: what will LN be about in 2015 and beyond?
LN will focus on posting of the news, results, information, and happenings going on in the Legends world. Not only does this include Legend Cars and Bandolero Cars, but, the Legend Dirt Modifieds as well as the Thunder Cars (formerly called Roadsters). The “master schedule” has returned to allow drivers find a place to race in the country, and driver rosters are also back to help promote drivers and their websites. A lot of the information we acquire will be by searching out, but we are hoping the community will send their information and press releases to us so they can be a part of the process to promote themselves.
At the present time, the one thing that will not return is LN’s personal coverage of racing events. Our focus will be to post news and information on the website, and at-track coverage of events is not only time consuming, but cost prohibitive for the website. We might do editorials from time to time or features of some sort, but we want to help the community help itself by everyone contributing to the promotion of the sport.
This new approach also helps out in one area where LN was unfairly targeted by a small group of people. Over the years, LN has been accused of being biased towards STIX FX Entertainment clients since STIX FX owns LN. That frankly has never been the case. LN has always provided a fair and balanced way of reporting and promoting the Legends and Bandolero community. However, in the past, some had noticed more coverage and news on the website for clients. This was not due to a bias, but rather due to a lack of other information to report. Since STIX FX Entertainment owns LN, we had a direct pipeline to posting news and press releases from the STIX FX clients onto LN. But, despite repeated requests on the old LN website and social media, we rarely received any news or press releases from other drivers to post. We provided an avenue for non-clients to be promoted on LN, but it rarely was used. Hopefully it will now.
It has also been quite humbling this past year for me. It is amazing on what impact on the sport LegendsNation.com had that I wasn’t really aware of. NASCAR officials, PR reps, team owners, track owners, promoters, and others have praised me for the website and wished I would “unretire” my news media hat and reopen it. Now I am.
I want to thank everyone for their support of LN over the years since it launched in 2007. I have been around the Legends and Bandolero community since the late 90s, well before LN was born. Now, in 2015, LN is back and ready to service the racing community for many years to come.
Welcome back to LegendsNation.com… and justice for all. – Stix
