There are some moments in Legend Cars racing history that are unique. Thanks to current NASCAR XFINITY Series driver and former Legends Car driver Darrell “Bubba” Wallace, this is one.
Back in 2011, “planking” was all the rage. Wallace was a big fan of it himself, showcasing his skills at the viral photo trend where people took pictures of themselves laying on different surfaces in a plank-type style.
On July 25th, 2011, at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) during the Summer Shootout Series, LN owner Jason “Stix” Buckley and Wallace talked about the trend, and Wallace promised he would not only plank in victory lane, but Buckley would get what would have possibly been the first-ever victory lane planking on top of a car interview in history. Wallace went on to win the Legends Pro division feature, and kept his word, being interviewed by Buckley and LN while planking on top of his Legends ride.
