With January almost over, the start of the 2015 INEX points season is just a few weeks away. And with the start of the race towards the championship, which starts February 16th, the INEX rulebook, and changes to it, becomes a focal point to keep competition all on the same page.
INEX released a short list of updates to the rulebook that will go into effect on March 1st. For Legend Cars, a change in the way the oil filter is secured has been put into place to help keep it from backing off (and hopefully prevent lengthy oil spill clean-ups at the track). For Thunder Cars (Roadsters), an inspection and resealing of engines takes place, which will be required to be completed by the 2016 season.
Also, points for the INEX national titles has been altered. For Legends and Bandoleros, the total number of points races tabulates out to 19 INEX sanctioned events, plus one INEX sanctioned national qualifier events for Legends (dirt series and asphalt series), and one championship race for Bandoleros.
