With four rounds down of the eight-round Winter Heat Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) in the books, the divisional points chases are getting interesting as some drivers try to scramble to the top while others are running away with the points lead.
In 2015, drivers will drop one of the eight races, leaving their best seven finishes to determine the points championships. Disqualifications cannot be dropped, so the championships will go down to the final race in all divisions.
Daniel Wilk is the only driver in the entire Winter Heat Series to have a perfect scorecard. With four wins in the Bandolero Bandits division, his points total is at 400 with Ryan Isreal in second at 382 points. William Robusto (355), Cameron Bolin (336), and Carson Kvapil (334) round out the top five.
With two wins and two second-place finishes, Matthew Davey firmly hold the points lead in the Bandolero Outlaws division with 394 points. Kayla Lyons is second with 363 points, followed by Austin Geer (354), Roy Hayes (346), and Eddie Fatscher (291).
Legends Young Lions
Matthew Thomas has won three of the four Legends Young Lions races with the other finish being a second, so he leads the division with 397 points. Alex Reece has a victory, two seconds, and a third, so he sits in second with 388 points. Chase Purdy (379), Austin Green (352), and Dawson Cram (347) round out the top five.
Legends Semi Pro
Dillon Faggart is leading the Legends Semi-Pro division with 397 points. His three wins and one second-place finish put him in that lead, but not too far behind is Christian Eckes with 391 points thanks to his three second-place finishes and one victory. John Holleman (357), Alex Murray (335), and Blake Spears (334) are the rest of the top five.
While Joey Padgett leads the Legends Pro division with 372 points, there has not been a clear leader in the division. Padgett has a victory while Michael Torres has two, but with Torres missing round four, Padgett holds the points lead over Reid Wilson (356), Brandon Gdovic (351), Henri Tuomaala (348), and Spencer Saunders (342).
Consistency and a victory has put Bruce Silver on top of the Legends Masters points standings with 382 points. Scott Whitaker has two victories, but a seventh-place finish in round two hurt him, giving him a total of 378 points. Rodney Tharp (363), Ron Mander (361), and Robby Faggart (360) complete out the top five.
