There was an incident at Orlando Speed World (FL) on Wednesday, February 18th, during a Bandolero Bandits race that forced the postponement of the night’s action.
During the third round of the Winter Nationals, according to witnesses at the scene, two Bandoleros hooked together during a feature race, spinning up onto the unused part of the track (Bandoleros race on the flat apron and not on the banking), making contact with a track worker. Witnesses told LN the worker suffered trauma to his femur and legs area, and possibly his head. Those same witnesses told LN he was awake and alert, and was airlifted to a hospital for further evaluation.
LN contacted US Legend Cars International / INEX as well as the promotional company of the events. Neither have comments as of 10:25pm ET.
The remaining events were postponed, according to Speed Shift TV, and will be made up tomorrow.
LN does not have any further information at this time. Our thoughts are with the track worker and those at the track.
