WINSTON-SALEM, NC : Joe Ryan Osborne made the most of his rare appearance in an INEX Legend Car by going to victory lane at the most famous NASCAR short-track on the annual INEX U.S. Legend Cars event on Friday night.
Osborne started the combined Pro/Masters feature in the 5th position, but after a lap 2 accident on the backstretch that began at the front of the field, he found himself in the second spot at the yellow flag.
Michael Torres started on pole and led the first 13 laps before Osborne made the move and took the lead away. Joey Padgett who had followed in Osborne’s tiretracks, also moved around Torres to take second away and the three of them were nose to tail with a distant gap on the field.
With 3 laps to go Osborne caught a break as he lapped past Bruce Silver and got a huge separation from Padgett and Torres.
Joe Ryan Osborne would go on to take the Pro and Overall victory in the 20 lap feature ahead of Joey Padgett, Michael Torres and Ryan Shattuck.
Dave Riopelle finished 7th in the overall and took home the Masters win.
