As the calendar turns into a new month, more and more race tracks begin their 2016 campaigns and the racing schedule is full on through the summer. Carteret Country Speedway in Swanboro, NC, Southside Speedway and Shenandoah Speedway in Virginia are among the race tracks scheduled to open up their seasons this weekend. Below we have assembled a more in depth look at some of scheduled races this weekend for Legends and Bandolero teams.
Williamston, SC : The third week of racing is already here at Anderson Motor Speedway’s high banked 3/8ths-mile oval. After two exciting events to begin the season, the U.S. Legend Cars will once again be on the track for another 20-lap affair this Friday night. Defending track champion Justin Ashley scored the last second pass for the win two weeks ago, while Alex Pacheco made a rare start with the off weekend to score the win last week.

The original Saturday events were moved up to a morning and afternoon event after rain forced the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour to schedule its event for Saturday evening on the big track. Gates open at 5:30 PM on Friday and 9:30 AM on Saturday.
Last week, Zack Miracle scored his first win in the Beginner Bandits class, while Josh Kossek inched ahead of Will Robusto for the Bandits victory. Matthew Eades took the win in the Outlaws class, while Eddie Fatscher and Michael Womack dominated the Legends Young Lions and Open races respectively. Even more important to the racer is the announcement earlier in the week that CCS has purchased the INEX track license so now all the events will be run for INEX championship points as well. Racing will begin at 7 PM on Saturday night as the weather is expected to be gone by late morning. The Bandoleros will run a 10-lap feature, while the Legends will compete in a 25-lap event.
