BETHEL, NY : With less than a week remaining before the prestigious Alliance Shippers’ LegendStock IX at Bethel Motor Speedway, it has been announced that the purse has now reached $10,000, officially making it the highest-paid Legends race in the Northeast.
In addition to the unique three-foot guitar-shaped trophies that has become the trademark of the race which are awarded to all of the division winners – Pro, Masters, Semi Pro, and Young Lions – the overall race winner will collect a $3,000 payday. Second will pay $1,500, and third will pay $1,000. All drivers taking the green in the A-main 50-lap INEX Asphalt Nationals qualifier will take home a minimum of $100. Drivers taking the green in the B-main that do not transfer to the A-main will collect $50. There are also several bonuses on the line, including Hard Charger and Halfway Leader.
Bandoleros will also take part in a 20-lap national championship race, and the Outlaw and Bandit division winners will each take home a guitar trophy. Several contingency awards have been posted for the Bandolero class as well. The Beginner Bandolero class will compete in a 15-lap feature event.
The entry list has ballooned over the past several weeks, and already includes drivers from seven different states and Canada. The entry fee for Legends cars is $70 up to August 2, and $85 on or after August 3. The headline race on Saturday will be preceded by practice and INEX points races on Friday, August 5. Gates open at 12 noon, with practice beginning at 2 pm. At 6 pm, INEX points races will begin, with each division competing separately. The pit entry fee for Friday is $30 per person. There is no additional fee for the car.
The gates open at 12 noon on Saturday as well, with practice beginning at 1 pm. In addition to the Legends and Bandoleros, the 4 Cylinder Advanced and Novice classes will be on the schedule. Grandstand admission is just $8, and children five years of age and under are admitted free of charge.
