CONCORD, NC : Eddie Fatscher’s breakout season continued this past weekend at Concord Speedway with his 27th and 28th wins on the 2016 season. Fatscher qualified on pole both nights and then led all 25 laps in each race to score the feature wins. The weekend was used to keep Fatscher in the seat of the race car as the Steven Ross led team heads north for this weekend’s all important INEX Legends Asphalt Nationals at New London-Waterford Speedbowl.
Fatscher currently leads the Legends Young Lions national point standings, but the championship is far from decided. Fatscher will have to fend off other contenders like Brody Pope, Giovanni Bromante and locals Ryan Kuhn and Austin Teras to secure the championship.
Fatscher on his 2016 season, “It has been a great year for me and Steven [Ross]. We started off the beginning of the year not too great, but slowly got better. We went to Orlando and won WinterNationals, then to Texas and a ton of fun there and won that. After that we have been counting up our wins for Nationals and we are at 28 for the year.”
The Steven Ross Motorsports team has made a couple of visits already to the Speedbowl in Connecticut in preparation of the upcoming National event. Along with racing in a few weekly shows at the track the team also had a 4 hour test session to get Fatscher comfortable with the fast and tight bullring. The team has a lot of confidence heading into the event this weekend.
“I think we are going to be dominant there at the beginning of the race and hopefully at the end of the race we come home with the victory,” Fatscher said on his confidence of heading to Waterford.
The 2016 INEX Legends Asphalt Nationals takes place at New London-Waterford Speedbowl in Connecticut October 6th-9th.
