FARLEY, IA : The annual Legends “Racing for a Cause” benefiting Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) series kicks into high gear with seven events over the course of the next two weeks across various dirt tracks in the Midwest.
Since 2010, Warren Ropp of Bulltown Legends of Iowa, has been putting on a series of Legend car races on dirt tracks in the region to benefit C.O.P.S. The traveling series was created in 2010 after a longtime friend of Ropp was killed while on duty as he responded to a domestic abuse call.
All proceeds from the “Racing for a Cause” series are contributed directly to the C.O.P.S. non-profit organization, which helps out families nationwide of fallen officers.
LegendsNation is honored to be on site of three of the next four events for the series next week at Kossuth County Speedway and Hancock County Speedway in Iowa. The “Racing for a Cause” series will also be part of the two-day LNTV broadcast from the Inaugural Dirt Classic on Friday, June 29th and Saturday, June 30th at Hancock County Speedway.
The upcoming schedule for “Racing for a Cause” sees them join the World of Outlaws on Friday night, June 22nd at Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa. The next four events will also be in the state of Iowa before moving to Wisconsin the following weekend for a doubleheader. The 2018 series will conclude on August 30th back at Farley Speedway as part of the 41st Annual Yankee Classic.
