ASHEVILLE, NC : On the heels of an exciting and controversial finish at Caraway Speedway (NC) for the Southeast Legends Tour, the series heads back south to Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, South Carolina for the seventh race of the 2018 season. Valdosta, Georgia’s Ryan Rackley only led for a few feet on the last lap, but it was the only part of the final lap that mattered. After Tyler Lester and Austin MacDonald tangled in turn four as they were on the way to the checkered flag, Rackley missed both cars and won the race to the checkers.
This Saturday marks the third and final visit for the Southeast Legends Tour to AMS for the year. Current Anderson Motor Speedway Legends point leader Karl Moberg is expected to compete with Farbo Motorsports this weekend. Moberg finished 12th in the season opener held back on April 14th for the series.
Rock Hill, South Carolina’s Lee Jordan won the inaugural race for the SELT on April 14th and is currently second in the track’s season long championship battle. Jordan’s Joe Ryan Race Cars teammate Ryan Rackley scored the win in the most recent event for the series in July.
Mike Canipe enters this weekend’s event with a 7 point lead over J.R. Weidman. Both drivers are expected to be on the entry list for this Saturday’s event.
Along with the Southeast Legends Tour, the Southeast Super Trucks and GRIPP Energy Drink Limited Late Models will be in action for the fourth and final time at Anderson Motor Speedway. Kenneth Headen won the first two races for the Super Trucks at Anderson, before Ashton Higgins took the victory over the Independence Day holiday.
This Saturday night is also Donnie Allison Night for the series as the Alabama Gang Legend is the Grand Marshall for the event. Allison helps to oversee the Allison Legacy Series, which is also in action for the first time in series history at the 3/8ths-mile bullring at Anderson Motor Speedway, plus racing from the Carolina Vintage Racers.
