(Drew Papke took his third win of the season last Friday night at Dacotah Speedway)
MANDAN, ND : Over ten years ago, a small group of drivers and volunteers approached the Dacotah Speedway Board of Directors about dedicating one of our racing nights to fund raise for local non-profits with a primary focus on breast cancer awareness. The Board of Directors unanimously approved the idea and Drive to Survive was born. Ten years ago, Dacotah Speedway has raised over $35,000 dollars for the Bismarck Cancer Center. Thank you to everyone who has ever donated to this fantastic cause.
After a complete restart in the INEX Legends feature, Casey Martin led the field to the green flag. Points leader Donavin Wiest had his hands full with Drew Papke and Troy Hoff for second. They raced three wide before Papke grabbed second and quickly reeled in Casey Martin for the lead.
With six laps to go, Papke took over the top spot as Hoff followed. Hoff was all over Papke’s rear bumper with only five laps to go. With two laps to go, Hoff dove low under Papke, but Papke’s drive off the corners allowed him to hold off Hoff.
Drew Papke drove on to win his third feature of the season over Troy Hoff. Points leader Donavin Wiest finished third as Preston Martin crossed the finish line fourth ahead of older brother Casey Martin.
