TUCSON, AZ : With an eight-point lead over Keirstin Jones going into the final Bandolero race of the 2018 season, Anika O’Brien made a charge for the lead from her fourth-place starting position, taking the top spot on the first lap of the main event. Running uncontested in the Outlaw division, Adam Farr followed O’Brien to the front of the pack.
A spin as he came into turn four on lap 12 by Landen Mros lost him second place to Jones.
With one to go, Jones went low in turn one to take the lead from O’Brien, but lost control and spun. O’Brien drove the No. 41 to victory lane, as she also celebrated back to back Bandolero championships. Mros finished second, followed by Keirstin Jones, Devin Jones and Eliana Schilling. Farr celebrated his 2018 championship following his Outlaw victory.
Don Zoll Jr. and points leader David Levitt quickly separated themselves from the Legend field. A high-speed game of leap frog followed with no less than 20 lead changes between the top two drivers. In the end, it was Zoll in the lead as the duo passed beneath the checkered flag. With a 63-point lead, Levitt is the 2018 Tucson Speedway Legend Champion.
