SHARON, SC : The names keep coming in for the 2019 INEX Winter Nationals at Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, Florida. Today it was announced that 2017 U.S. Legend Cars International Bandolero Outlaws National Champion Cameron Bolin will be making a return to the event. The surprise in the news is that he will not be in a Bandolero, but a Legend car instead.
Bolin, who graduated to a Limited Late Model in 2018 at Greenville-Pickens Speedway, still spends time at INEX events with his father Brad and grandfather Roddy helping to develop drivers in the Bandolero division. Bolin has worked with Jadyn Daniels and Logan Clark over the past year to bring their careers to the front of the Outlaws division. Both drivers were able to score top five finishes in each of the two Bandolero Outlaw feature races yesterday at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Winter Heat action.
However, Bolin has never raced a Legend car in competition. After working with Conner Jones Racing this past weekend, a deal was made to put Cameron Bolin a CJR Legend race car this February in the Young Lions division for Winter Nationals.
“Thanks to Robbie and Conner [Jones] I am going to be wheeling the number 14 Legend car in the Young Lions division alongside my teammate Conner. We are more than excited to go down there in Florida and hopefully kick some butt, said Bolin.”
Bolin is the 2017 INEX Winter Nationals Bandolero Outlaws champion and will be looking to pick up some more hardware this year in Florida. Last year, he spent some time in the LNTV broadcast booth as a guest analyst for several races.
Bolin on what to expect, “I’m not getting my hopes up, because I have never done this before and it will be a great learning experience.”
Last month, Bolin was finally able to win a race that had eluded him in each of his previous attempts. The annual “Gobbler / Spooktacular” race at Concord Speedway is one that all Bandolero drivers want to win. The 80 lap long distance event was one that the former track champion had been unable to capture until last month. As he drove a #15 car from the Logan Clark racing team, Bolin went out and dominated the 80 lap race to finally add that trophy to his long list of accomplishments.
