LAS VEGAS, NV : The first weekend of 2019 brings about a return to action on the road course for the Silver State Championship at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with doubleheader racing for Legends, Bandoleros and Thunder Roadsters.
The Bandoleros will run on the short course, as shown in blue in the map, while the Legends and Thunder Roadsters will take to the full track on both days, as shown in red on the map.
This weekend is the only racing action of the month for the series as they will finish with back-to-back weekends to begin the month of February. All races go towards national INEX road course points for the 2019 season.
Elvis Rankin enters as the Bandolero Bandit point leader by virtue of his two wins last month in the series’ weekend opener. Bandolero Outlaw veterans Adam Lemke and RJ Smotherman split the feature wins back in December to enter this weekend’s races tied atop those point standings with the rolling drop included.
John Holiger and Jace Denmark-Gessel each took a win in the Legends Young Lions class and sit out front with 100 points each.
Heather Hadley in Legends Semi-Pro and Jason Irwin in Pro both swept their two respective features in December and are in search of making it three or four in a row this weekend.
Keith Van Dyne and Road Course World Finals standout Gary Scheuerell each picked up a win in the Masters division to begin the 2018-19 Silver State Championship.
Pit gates open at 7 AM on Saturday and Sunday with the mandatory drivers meetings to follow before the cars take to the road circuit.
