THORNBURG, VA : Dominion Raceway and INEX (The international sanctioning body of Legend Racing) announced today an 8 race – 6-day schedule at the 4/10ths mile Virginia oval for 2019. The Legends cars will return after a one-year hiatus and the level of interest continues to grow.
“We’re excited to welcome the Legends cars and their great fans back to our track; they put on some great races and add variety to our program.” stated track owner Steve Britt.
Mike Gwaltney, owner of CMG Motorsports; Virginia’s local US Legend Cars Dealer said he was thrilled about the opportunity to bring the series back to Dominion.
Driver Conner Jones shares everyone’s excitement, “…Dominion Raceway is one of the “funnest” tracks that I have ever raced and I cannot wait to go back.”
Legend Cars are 5/8-scale fiberglass full-fendered versions of the famed NASCAR Modifieds of the early years of racing. They are powered by 125 horsepower Yamaha engines and weigh just 1,250 pounds including the driver.
Dominion Raceway’s Oval Track measures 4/10ths of a mile and includes uniform banking. The track is designed to enable excellent side by side racing at all locations and gives its competitors “equal” opportunity in both low and high grooves.
Additionally, the INEX Legends will be part of the Inaugural CARS Tour Dominion Raceway Road Course event on November 16, 2019.
Dominion Raceway’s Road Course includes sweeping turns (a total of 12 turns), including a 2,700-foot front stretch and a total of 70’ of elevation change throughout.
