WHITE LAKE, NY : Perfect weather with above average tempertures greeted racers and fans to a fun evening of grassroots short track racing as it hosted ‘Music Night’ which was sponsored by Frank Stevens Roofing.
Legends racing action found Jason Chapman outgunning Tanner Jones at the drop of the green to take the early lead. James Anderson moved by Jones to take second on lap 2 and began to follow the leader.
The caution free event saw Chapman hit his marks each lap to force Anderson to turn up the pressure. Lap 15 proved to be blockbuster for Anderson as he was able to get Chapman to slip up just enough in lapped traffic to make an inside run to take the lead.
Chapman continued to challenge on the outside to get the lead back, but found a strong Anthony Bello executing a sweet inside pass to take second as they negotiated the lapped cars. At the checkers, it was Anderson picking up his second feature win of the season as he continues to chip away at the point lead between him and point leader Eugene Drew. Bello took home second with Chapman in third.

Bandoleros ran twin features this past Saturday. The first feature found Ty Smith and Sean McElearney battling it out for the lead as they both were seeking their first feature wins of the season. However, Brian Rygielski was on a mission coming from eighth position to move past current point leader Joey Aungst and Ty Smith on lap 10 to take over second.

Coming out of turn four to the checkers, McElearney loss the grip and spun to the infield. Rygielski took home win number six in the exciting finish over Smith and Aungst. The point championship continues to be a tight one between three drivers. Brian Rygielski has been cutting into Aungst’s point lead with a very narrow margin between the two as Evan Rygielski stays in striking distance.
