AUBURNDALE, FL : “The Dale” reopened up to competitors this past weekend as the Florida Legend Series resumed their delayed 2020 season due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This upcoming weekend, May 16th, the series returns Auburndale Speedway for another double feature event.
As the INEX point season gets back going once again, both of these events will count towards INEX national, state and track points. The best result will be counted as your official Florida Legend Series point score for the day. There is no payout for this weekend’s races and the track is still closed to spectators.
Moving forward, May 23rd and 24th Auburndale Speedway will be running what they hope will be the season opener for race fans to return to the track. This is not definite and is subject to change for the race fans, but the race event is a two-day show to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend.
The Florida Legend Cars and Bandoleros will compete on both race days. There will be one feature for each on Saturday and another separate feature on Sunday. Just like this upcoming weekend, both events will count towards INEX points with the best result of the two races going towards the Florida series. There will be trophies and the payout for this weekend’s double is still to be determined.
You are asked to notify Scott Cornman at (352) 460.7689 if you are planning to attend either of these events and social distancing guidelines will still be enforced in the pit area.
