MANDAN, ND : Dacotah Speedway decided to celebrate their 30th Anniversary on Friday, August 14th. The first 100 race fans received free cupcakes as they walked in the fan gate. During intermission, the first two candidates for the Dacotah Speedway Hall of Fame were announced, long-time volunteer Curt Klein and former race car driver, Carrie Mundahl. The track also honored the fallen race car drivers that we have lost within the past year.
Austin Wiest and Nate Keena battled for the lead in the INEX Legends feature. They raced side by side for several laps before an early race caution regrouped the field. On the restart, it was a three car battle for the win between Wiest, Keena and Drew Papke. Using the highside to his advantage, Papke blew by Wiest and Keena to take the lead. A mid-race caution regrouped the field and on the restart, Wiest challenged Papke for the lead. As the laps wound down, Drew Papke pulled away to win his second feature victory over Nate Keena. Austin Wiest finished third while points leader Donavin Wiest held off Ryan Braseth for fourth.
