Team F4V Ready For Biggest Ever Season as Legends Cars Head to Cadwell Park

Team F4V

From Team PR –

•    Legends Cars mainstay Nathan Anthony aiming for best season yet

•    Cadwell Park to host first event of Legends Cars Championship season

•    Anthony and Team F4V targeting positive start in rounds one and two

Nathan Anthony, one of the longest-standing racers in the Legends Cars Championship with MRF Tyres, is eyeing a strong start to the 2023 season for Team F4V at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire next weekend – an event which marks the beginning of the biggest ever season for the Horley squad.

Anthony, who owns and runs the successful First 4 Vans business near Gatwick Airport, is setting out on his 13th year of Legends Cars action and will once again be piloting his trusty yellow and blue No.29 Se-Van, which is arguably the most recognisable entry in the all-action category.

The new season gets underway little more than a week from now, over the weekend 15th/16th April, and Anthony is setting his sights on bettering the best championship finish he has achieved thus far in his career – eighth position in 2017.

As a podium finisher and regular front-runner, the First 4 Vans, Towergate Insurance, Blue Lizard, Blue Chip Warranty, Moove and Creative Funding Solutions backed racer is one of the category’s most consistent campaigners and is hoping for a positive start to the season at Cadwell.

Anthony will also be contesting the brand new standalone Legends Cars Elite Cup with JLM, which begins in May at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in Kent and runs as a support category to the high-profile British Touring Car Championship.

Notably, the Elite Cup will see Team F4V expand to a two-driver entry for the first time with reigning, and three-time, Legends Cars Champion Miles Rudman (Sutton Coldfield) having recently signed a landmark deal to race a sister yellow and blue Se-Van, which is based on a Ford Sedan.

All cars (and vans!) in the Legends Cars are based on 5/8 scale versions of 1930s American models, such as Fords and Chevys, and they are powered by 1250cc Yamaha motorcycle engines. Incredibly light, incredibly quick and unbelievably exciting, the Legends Cars provide the ultimate in race action with almost continual overtaking and sensational bumper-to-bumper and wheel-to-wheel racing.

Nathan Anthony:

“We can’t wait for the first rounds at Cadwell, it feels like an age since we were at Brands for last season’s finale. This year is huge for the Legends Cars with the advent of the Elite Cup as well as the regular Legends Cars Championship season, and it’s every bit as huge for Team F4V as well with Miles [Rudman] racing a second Se-Van in the Elite Cup for us.

“Hopefully I can make a strong and competitive start to the championship at Cadwell, which is a fantastic track, and set us up nicely for the first rounds of the Elite Cup next month. I do want to take the chance to thank our sponsors ahead of the new season, without them we wouldn’t be here!”

Qualifying begins at 09.50 on Saturday, 15th April, at Cadwell Park with Heat One of round one starting at 12.20, Heat Two at 14.55 and the round one Final at 17.25. On Sunday, 16th April, Heat One of round two will get underway at 09.30, Heat Two at 13.35 and the Final at 16.35.

About Team F4V:

Established in 2011 for team owner Nathan Anthony’s maiden season of racing in the Legends Cars Championship, Team F4V has become synonymous with the category for 5/8 scale 1930s style American car models. Famously, Team F4V created the first ‘van’ to race in Legends Cars – known as the Se-Van rather than ‘Sedan’ – a genius marketing strategy for Nathan’s business, Horley-based First 4 Vans. Nathan is a podium finisher in Legends Cars and contests both the Legends Cars Championship with MRF Tyres and the brand new Legends Cars Elite Cup with JLM this year, the latter supporting three of the 2023 British Touring Car Championship events and so receiving live coverage on ITV4. Team F4V is fielding a second Se-Van for the first time this year for none other than reigning and three-time Legends Cars Champion Miles Rudman.
