MONGEON USES OUTSIDE LANE TO FIRST LEGENDS CARS WIN

SEEKONK, Mass. — Invading Seekonk Speedway for the first time this season in the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, Jase Mongeon made it count. The driver of the No. 19 used the outside lane on a green-white-checkered finish to wheel around Jacob “Rowdy” Burns and take the victory in the 25-lap main event.

Burns, Isaiah Newcomb, Richie Helger Jr and others had a tough battle for the lead for much of the early portion of the race. It wasn’t until the final few laps that Mongeon made his moves count to get to the front, taking the outside of the front row for the final restart.

Mongeon edged out Burns across the line by less than two car lengths, with Burns and Newcomb finishing second and third. Helger scored a second straight top-five in fourth and Brenden LaBelle finished in fifth.

Cole Robie, Chase Silvia, Nicholaus Bulkeley, Mason Tessier and Jake Silvia finished sixth through 10.

The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will return to the track on Friday, July 21, with another 25-lap race. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.

RYAN VANASSE JR. MAKES IT FOUR WINS IN OUTLAWS

SEEKONK, Mass. — On a night where his father celebrated his birthday, Ryan Vanasse Jr. made sure to blow out the candles on the rest of the field. For the fourth time this season, the driver of the No. 11 in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws was carrying the checkered flag on Friday night.

Vanasse came out on top in a battle with Brent Robidoux once again to score the win. It was the fourth of the year for Vanasse, but Robidoux has been close for all of them and has a victory himself. Between the two drivers, they have won all but one of the feature events. Robidoux finished second again Friday night in the 15-lapper.

Ben Morabito finished in the third spot, his best run of his young season. Collin Vanasse charged back through the field after a mid-race tangle to finish fourth with Bryson Robidoux crossing in fifth.

RJ Murphy, Dylan Calabro, Andrew Gomes, Zachary Keith and Abbie Badejo finished out the top-10.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws will return to the track on Friday, July 21, with another 15-lap race. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.

SAM MACEDO WINS SECOND BANDIT FEATURE OF THE SEASON

SEEKONK, Mass. — Sam “The Green Hornet” Macedo was back on top Friday night at Seekonk Speedway. Driving his familiar No. 16, Macedo made the move to the front of the pack early, then held off Nick Uhrig Jr. to roll to his second feature win of the season in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits.

The defending champion went without a victory last year, but as the division hits the month of July, he will look to report in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup with at least two wins to his credit. Uhrig had a strong run to finish second, adding yet another consistent finish to what is turning out to be the best season of his career. Parker Davis, who won the first two races of the season, returned to the podium to finish in third spot.

Ryder Aguiar had a career best fourth and Mike Hanafin, the winner from one week prior, finished the top-five. Jace Chaber, Mason Silva, Carl Satterlund Jr., David Bernier and Luka Dib completed the top-10.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will return to the track on Friday, July 21, with another 15-lap race. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
