MIKE HANAFIN WINS SECOND OF THE SEASON IN BANDITS

SEEKONK, Mass. — It didn’t take long for Mike Hanafin to get his second career win at Seekonk Speedway. After seven years of trying, he won his first in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits a few weeks ago. Friday night, July 21, he added another win to his young career in the No. 76.

Hanafin picked up his second career win in the 15-lap feature, holding off defending champion Sam Macedo to do it in the final laps. Macedo tried everything to get around, it just wasn’t meant to be. Hanafin crossed the line ahead of what ended up being a three-wide battle for the runner-up spot, with Nick Uhrig Jr. sneaking through to grab second at the finish.

Macedo would finish third, with two-time season winner Parker Davis in fourth and Mason Silva rounding out the top-five. David Bernier, Carl Satterlund Jr., Luka Dib, Jayden Sprague and Ryder Aguiar completed the field.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero bandits will be back on the track on Friday, July 28 for another 15-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates.

VANASSE WINS YET ANOTHER IN THE OUTLAWS

SEEKONK, Mass. — Ryan Vanasse Jr. is on fire in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw division in 2023 at Seekonk Speedway. Vanasse picked up yet another win on Friday night, his fifth of the season, and it did it in mostly dominating fashion once again.

He used the inside lane to get ahead of mostly everyone in the field, then passed for the lead on lap five and never gave up the top spot. As Ben Morabito tried to close in during the final laps, Vanasse was on top of his game – posting the fastest lap of his race on the final lap of the 15-lap feature.

Morabito crossed the line second after giving it his best shot — his best run of the season — with Brent Robidoux crossing in third. Andrew Gomes and Bryson Robidoux followed in fourth and fifth.

Dylan Calabro, Nathan Rioux, Zachary Keith, Mikey LeFort III and Brody Wakefield finished sixth through 10th.

ISAIAH NEWCOMB ON TOP IN THE LEGENDS CARS

SEEKONK, Mass. — Isaiah Newcomb made it clear Friday night was going to be his night in the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars at Seekonk Speedway. Newcomb jumped out front early in the rather clean Legends Cars race and never looked back, rolling to the feature win after 25 laps.

While Newcomb drove away with the win, the race for second was tight at the end between Richie Helger Jr., Jacob Burns and Nicholaus Bulkeley. The drivers were dicing for the spot as the field took the white flag.

When it came down to the finish, Helger grabbed the spot, his best career in a Legend Car at Seekonk, while Burns was third and Bulkeley followed in fourth.

Branden LaBelle finished in fifth with Josh Parsons, Mason Tessier, Zack Martinez, Chase Silvia and Cole Robie finishing out the top-10.

The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars division will be back on the track on Friday, July 28 for another 30-lap feature in the second round of their Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series.
