On Tuesday, January 16, U.S. Legend Cars International announced rear disc brakes will now be legal for all Legend Cars in 2024, including all INEX asphalt, dirt, and road course national championships and events.
“We expect the addition of rear disc brakes to provide a more competitive and safer racing environment on the race track,” said Vice President of Racing Operations & Manufacturing at U.S. Legend Cars International and INEX GE Chapman, via the USLCI announcement on their website. “Rear disc brakes on the Legend Car will offer an overall better experience for our drivers, giving them more setup customization and require less maintenance.”
The rear disc brakes will be legal for INEX competition when the 2024 INEX rulebook goes into effect, which is on March 1. The kits, which include calipers, brackets, rotors, axle spacers, brake lines, and fittings, are available to purchase immediately for $619.99 through local dealers, however, do not include brake pads within the kit. USLCI will continue to offer drum brake components for those not ready to make the conversion.

Legend Car rear brakes
For the 2024 racing season, US Legend Cars International is introducing a new, rear disc brake package.
This package will be a bolt on conversion from the drums to the discs using the same rearend housing, gears & axles.
The rear disc brake package will be legal for use at all INEX sanctioned events as of March 1st 2024.
This rear disc brake package will be used in production cars after March 1st 2024. It will include brake rotors, calipers, caliper brackets, axle plate spacers & lines / fittings and will be considered stock brake components as delivered by US Legend Cars International. Competitors that use the rear disc package will also be allowed to use an additional brake valve in their braking system (to regulate brake pressure to the rear).
The rear offset rule (6” minimum using the brake drum package) will be changed to 6 1/2″ minimum for cars using the rear disc brake package.
