Last year, a veteran visited the tent during a race to make sure that his wife would be cared for in the event of his death because he wasn’t “going to be here tomorrow.”
Ed Bray connected the veteran to a veteran service officer who was able to help with his benefits, and a chaplain who talked with and listened to the veteran.
At the end of those conversations, the veteran told Ed that the visit had saved his life because he had been planning to take his life the next day.
Anything that begins a conversation can save a life.
