Team F4V Media Release – Horley racing driver Nathan Anthony is excited to begin the defence of his Legends Cars Elite Cup ‘Masters’ class title at Donington Park next weekend, 27th/28th April, when the 2024 season gets underway alongside the UK’s biggest race series – the British Touring Car Championship.

After a memorable 2023 at the wheel of his trusty No.29 Se-Van, Nathan not only became the Masters Champion of the inaugural Elite Cup but also only just missed out on Masters class glory in the overall Legends Cars Championship as well.

Following an incredibly busy winter off-track with his business First 4 Vans, based near Gatwick, one of Legends Cars’ most popular competitors is now raring to go and especially with the first event of the category’s 30th Anniversary season marking the start of both the Championship and Elite Cup.

While the hugely popular BTCC-supporting Elite Cup was a standalone entity last year, for the new season the points scored throughout the Elite Cup will also go towards overall points totals in the Legends Cars Championship.

So far in pre-season testing, of which there hasn’t been a great deal for the Team F4V racer, things have gone well and the No.29 Se-Van was actually at Donington Park National Circuit yesterday, Thursday, 18th April, during a general test where Nathan was happy with the times achieved despite a lot of traffic!

Backing for the coming season for Team F4V is provided by Towergate Insurance, Blue Lizard, Blue Chip Warranty, Creative Funding Solutions, Mowermate and, of course, First 4 Vans. With a grid of up to 30 entries expected for next weekend’s eagerly awaited action too, the racing is set to be as spectacular as ever – and Nathan intends to be at the absolute heart of it.

Nathan Anthony:

“I’m really looking forward to next weekend and finally getting the season underway. It’s been a long winter, so we’re really happy to be back and especially with the first two rounds being with the BTCC and everything that brings – the huge crowds and the live TV on ITV4. I do enjoy Donington, it’s a fast and flowing track and we always seem to do OK there.

“I’d like to be a bit faster, although that’s the same everywhere! Seriously though, I’m happy with the pace we showed on Thursday in the general test and I think we’re there or thereabouts. We wouldn’t be here for another crack at it without the fantastic support of our sponsors, so a huge thank you to them. I’m ready to get going!”

With no official pre-event testing, the first track time back at Donington next weekend will come during the qualifying session on Saturday, 27th April, at 09.10. Heat one of round one is set to begin at 12.15 with Heat Two starting at 14.30 and the Final following at 17.45.

On Sunday, 28th April, Heat One of round two is at 09.05, Heat Two follows at 12.50 – expected to be live on ITV4 – while the Final is scheduled to close the day’s action at 18.05.
