Silva, Wakefield, and Helger Win Friday at Seekonk Speedway

Bandoleros and Legends raced on Friday, May 31, at Seekonk Speedway (MA), with Mason Silva (Bandolero Bandits), Brody Wakefield (Bandolero Outlaws), and Richie Helger Jr. (Legends) winning features. Read the race recaps from the track below.

MASON SILVA SCORES FIRST CAREER BANDOLERO WIN AT SEEKONK SPEEDWAY

SEEKONK, Mass. — Mason Silva has been picking up the pace in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits each time he hits the track. On Friday night, in the second race of the 2024 season, Silva captured his first career win driving the No. 31 machine. Silva held on during a late restart after a wild race to roll into Victory Lane for the first time in his career, driving for Helger’s Racing.

While Silva won, the 15-lap feature was filled with ups and downs for many competitors, but kept fans on the edge of their seats.

David Bernier was back on the podium in week two, finishing second in the No. 30. He was followed to the line by Jace Chaber, grabbing a strong run in third. Luka Dib, who won the first race of the year, finished fourth, while Ayla Martin completed the top-five. Kennedy Burrows and Carl Satterlund Jr. finished off the top-seven.

WAKEFIELD FINDS SEEKONK VICTORY LANE FOR THE FIRST TIME

SEEKONK, Mass. — Brody Wakefield has been off to an impressive start in New England during the 2024 season in the Bandolero division. Friday night, Wakefield rolled to his first career win in the Seekonk Speedway Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw division. Wakefield jumped out front early in the 15-lap feature and drove away in the final laps to take his No. 04 into the winner’s circle.

Bryson Robidoux finished second, back on the podium for the second time in two weeks. Mike Hanafin, the winner of race one this season, wasn’t far behind either, finishing in third. Nick Uhrig Jr. also had a strong run, grabbing fourth, while Allya Desomma rounded out the top-five after 15 circuits.

Zacarias Kelley, Ryder Aguiar, Zachary Keith, Brady Connors and Jordan Duquette finished the top-10.

HELGER FINDS VICTORY LANE IN THE LEGENDS FOR THE SECOND TIME

SEEKONK, Mass. — Richie Helger Jr. was back on top Friday night. Driving the Helger’s Racing No. 99, Richie jumped out front early and dominated the second half of the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars 25-lap race. Helger picked up his first win of the new season, but it was his second career.

Helger took the checkered flag first over Rodney Dowless Jr., who drove the Nick Lascuola Racing entry to a strong best career second-place finish. He was followed by fellow NLR driver Josh Parsons, who continued to show speed early in 2024 once again, and finished in third. Mason Tessier and opening week winner Jacob “Rowdy” Burns finished the top-five.

Kevin Davis finished sixth, while former Seekonk Bandolero winner Ryan Vanasse Jr. made his Seekonk debut in a Legend Car and finished seventh. Brenden LaBelle, Jaden Hamilton and Steve Bowden finished the top-10.
