Hey everyone! I am Jason “Stix” Buckley, founder and owner of Legends Nation. I wanted to give you all an update on some upcoming announcements and LN race coverage, as well as a few other things.
Before I get into the scheduling and coverage coming up for LN, I wanted to mention our new “… and justice for all” shirt and hoodies. We are getting some great sales of them from the Nation, and we appreciate that! Shipping has been happening, and early supporters that have ordered are starting to get their LN gear. Every penny LN receives from the sales of these goes right back into the management and running of Legends Nation, so by purchasing, you are not only going to look bad to the bone wearing one, you are supporting the funding of LN! Today the 2024 Cook Out Summer Shootout Series kicks off at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC), the 31st anniversary season of what has become the premier Legend Cars and Bandolero series nationally. Starting in 2007 (and even before then with our friends at Speed 51 and my owned site, Motorsport Lounge), Legends Nation has been the primary source for news, information, and updates from the Shootout, whether it was during my time of ownership or during the Brian Nagy era of LN from 2015 to 2022. With the re-launch of LN in 2023, our goal was to be able to get to the Summer Shootout again this year, however, as I am currently located in Texas, it takes a lot of expense to fly in every week for coverage. The economy hasn’t helped that at all, so unfortunately I will not be at the start of the Shootout again this year.
HOWEVER …
We are working on securing coverage sponsorship to be at the finale on July 30, and do plan on being there to cover the championship races as well as a few other things!
That doesn’t mean we will not have coverage though from the Summer Shootout. Our friends over at FloRacing will be broadcasting the entire series online, and we will be posting photos provided by INEX of the winners. We also encourage drivers to send in their videos of wins and wild racing action for us to repost throughout the entire summer that we will highlight on LN! We have a Summer Shootout page (linked on the menu), so keep track of all the action there as well as on our socials.
Speaking of coverage, LN will make the trip to Houston Motorsports Park (TX) for a Legends race there on Saturday, June 22. Texas Independent Racing has brought Legends back from extinction in Texas, and we look forward to being there to cover the action and help promote the resurgence of Legends (and possibly Bandolero) racing in the great state of Texas.
Additionally, while we haven’t made the official announcement (so I guess the cat is out of the bag here if you are still reading), I will be making a trip back to my home state of Iowa to cover for LN the 2024 Bandolero Nationals at Hawkeye Downs Speedway. This is very exciting for the sport and for myself personally to see INEX choose a race track in the state I grew up in, and to be able to be there for this momentous occasion will be awesome. We will be working on securing sponsorship of our coverage soon, so if you would like to sponsor our coverage, send a message over!
The Bandolero Nationals are just one of four big national events. LN would love to travel to all events this year for personal coverage, however, that takes $$. As mentioned above, if interested in sponsoring LN coverage of these events, which is great exposure for your business or brand, contact me!
