From Team F4V Media –
• Team F4V excited for rounds seven and eight of season in East Midlands
• Legends Cars Championship set for second visit of 2024 to Donington
• Se-Van racer Nathan Anthony determined to rack up consistent points
Donington Park National Circuit is the destination for Legends Cars Championship racer Nathan Anthony this coming weekend, 29th/30th June, as rounds seven and eight of the season headline two days of varied action at the Leicestershire venue.
Having achieved his best overall finish of the campaign last time out at his home circuit Brands Hatch, taking sixth position amid a run of top results, Team F4V racer Nathan is aiming to build on the performance and continue making inroads towards the outright championship top 10.
In terms of the Masters Cup division, which confers the Gerard McCosh Napoleon Award title to the eventual winner, the Horley sportsman is second in class ahead of the coming weekend’s racing, 230 points adrift of the lead.
The gap may appear significant at first glance, but with 200 points available for an outright win in Legends Cars competition and therefore 1,200 in total on offer across the Donington Park weekend, the Se-Van driver could certainly make strong progress with a consistent and competitive run.
Donington, of course, provided the venue for the curtain-raiser of the Legends Cars season back in April where the pocket rockets supported the British Touring Car Championship. Taking a best result of seventh overall during the course of a very dramatic and rain-hit weekend, Nathan departed the East Midlands with the Masters Cup lead before slipping to second during the next event at Brands.
Now determined to close the points gap in the Masters over the course of rounds seven and eight, First 4 Vans, Towergate Insurance, Blue Lizard, Blue Chip Warranty, Creative Funding Solutions, Moove and Mowermate-backed Nathan is relishing the challenge.
Nathan Anthony:
“It’s been a season of some ups and downs so far, but the pace is good and we’ve run at the front in a fair few races at both Donington and Brands. The aim for our return to Donington this weekend is the same as always to be honest, consistent finishes and as many points as we can. The Se-Van is running well, we’ve had pretty good reliability and we’re hopeful that continues.
“Donington is a good track, the National Circuit flows nicely and there are good opportunities for bump-drafting and overtaking. I want to close the gap in the Masters, that’s the first target, and also try and get closer to the overall top 10 in the championship. Let’s see what happens!”
Qualifying at Donington Park will begin at 09.30 on Saturday, 29th June, with Heat One of the day set to start at 12.30, Heat Two will follow at 16.15 and the round seven Final is scheduled for 17.45. On Sunday, 30th June, Heat One of round eight begins the day’s action at 09.00, Heat Two commences at 11.35 and the Final is scheduled for 13.00.
