Dib, Davis, and Burns Win Friday’s Seekonk Speedway Features

Seekonk Speedway - September 13 2024 - Winners

Bandoleros and Legends returned to Seekonk Speedway (MA) on Friday, September 13. Winning the features were Luka Dib (Bandolero Bandits), Parker Davis (Bandolero Outlaws), and Jacob Burns (Legends). Race stories below by the track.

DIB WINS SECOND STRAIGHT PLAYOFF RACE IN BANDITS

SEEKONK, Mass. — Similar to a few other divisions, the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit field has been chasing the same driver the first two weeks. Luka Dib is batting perfect, after capturing a second straight win to open the playoffs on Friday night at the Action Track of the East. Dib jumped out front early and was not to be denied in the 15-lap contest.

He was followed to the finish by Mason Silva, who tried everything to get around in the final laps, but settled for second. David Bernier followed in third, with Jase Chaber and Ayla Martin rounding out the top-five. Carl Satterlund Jr and MacKenzie Cloutier rounded out the field.

After two playoff events, Dib, Bernier and Silva have locked themselves into the playoff Final Four on points. The other driver currently in a spot to advance is Jase Chaber.

The Sunoco Drive For The Cup continues for the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits with the third of four events on Friday, September 20, at 7 p.m. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.

DAVIS SURVIVES OUTLAW CHAOS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT PLAYOFF WIN

SEEKONK, Mass. — This one may have looked a little bit different than the first, but they both count the same for Parker Davis in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws. With two races complete in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup, Davis is batting a perfect score with feature wins. Friday night, the driver of the No. 14 captured his second straight Outlaw victory, holding off the challenges of many drivers over the course of the race to get to Victory Lane.

The win puts Davis in the playoff points lead, and based on points, locks him into the Final Four. Davis has a total of 12 playoff points after the first two weeks. The first driver outside the cutline only has five points, and you can only gain six per event. Davis will compete for the title on Fast Friday championship night in the Outlaws. Three more spots remain.

While Davis won, the podium had some new stars on Friday. Vincent Sarro posted his best career finish in second, while Zachary Keith followed in third. Playoff driver Nick Uhrig Jr. finished fourth, with Zacarias Kelley rounding out the top-five. They were followed by Jordan Duequette, Nathan Zimmerman, Madison White, Brody Wakefield and Allyha DeSomma.

Unofficially, the current Final Four drivers would be: Davis, Bryson Robidoux, Wakefield and Uhrig.

JACOB BURNS GRABS SECOND RACE OF PLAYOFFS IN LEGENDS CARS

SEEKONK, Mass. — After a tough first round of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup in the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, defending champion Jacob “Rowdy” Burns rebounded in a big way in race two on Friday night.

Burns jumped out front early in the 25-lap feature, then held off the charges of Chase Silvia over the final laps to score the feature win. With the victory, Burns boosted himself into a solid spot heading for the third race of the playoffs – the one that will help set the Final Four – next week.

Chase Silvia, who won the first race of the playoffs, finished second on Friday. Silvia tried the bottom on Burns after the two made a bit of contact off turn two, and then they raced side-by-side over the final laps to the checkered flag. With a victory and a second-place finish in two races, Silvia is also in a good spot in the playoff tally.

The remainder of the top-five on Friday included Richie Helger Jr., Josh Parsons and Mason Tessier. They were followed by Ryan Vanasse Jr., Brenden LaBelle, Kevin Nowak, Kevin Davis and Dylan Calabro.

Unofficially, the current Final Four drivers would be: Silvia, Burns, Helger and LaBelle.
