• Cheshire challenge this coming weekend for Legends’ Nathan Anthony • Spectacular Oulton Park International Circuit to host Legends Cars finale • Se-Van driver determined to wrap-up 2024 season with three top results |
Nathan Anthony’s motor racing year reaches its conclusion this coming Saturday, 28th September, when the final round of the Legends Cars Championship season takes place at the unique Oulton Park in Cheshire. Visiting the North West venue for the first time since 2022, the Legends Cars make a welcome return to Oulton’s full International Circuit where round 13 of the campaign will be contested, three races in total. Going in to the hotly anticipated season finale, Team F4V driver Nathan is third in the Masters Cup battle and 11th in the overall driver standings. With just three races scheduled though, rather than the usual six, the opportunity to try and break into the outright championship top 10 is slim to say the least with the points which will be on offer – but that won’t stop him from trying. During the previous trip to Oulton a couple of years ago, the Horley racer showed some impressive speed with a best race result of fourth place. More of the same is, therefore, the target in the yellow and blue No.29 Se-Van. This season there have been a number of such front-running performances from Nathan, but those have been tempered by some less fortunate outings as well which have compromised his challenge and have also meant third in the Masters will be the highest he can finish in the class this year. Supported, as always, by First 4 Vans, Towergate Insurance, Blue Lizard, Blue Chip Warranty, Creative Funding Solutions, Moove and Mowermate, the Legends Cars mainstay says he cannot wait to be back at Oulton Park a few days from now. Notably too, the last three races of the category’s 30th Anniversary season will be streamed live online at the Legends Cars Championship YouTube channel – meaning Nathan’s many supporters back home in Surrey will be able to cheer him on from the comfort of their armchairs. Nathan Anthony: “Oulton is a proper driver circuit, one of the best tracks in the UK without a doubt, and I am looking forward to being back there for the first time in a couple of years. It’s got a great mix of speed and more technical stuff, and I really do hope we can have a bit of a bullet-proof weekend to really show what we’re capable of. “It’s been a pretty decent season, with some good highlights and Masters wins along the way, but the push for the overall championship top 10 has been badly hit by some mechanical issues here and there and some on-track skirmishes. Hopefully we can go into the winter in a really positive frame of mind with three mega results at Oulton on Saturday!” Qualifying practice for the Legends Cars at Oulton Park is timetabled to start at 09.30 on Saturday, 28th September, with Heat One scheduled to begin at 12.00. Heat Two will follow around 14.30 with the round 13 Final due off at 17.00.
