Portsmouth Raceway Park, a 3/8ths-mile banked dirt track in West Portsmouth, Ohio, has announced they will not open in 2025.
According to a Facebook post by the track on Friday, December 13, the track will sit silent next season, and possibly forever.
“We at Portsmouth Raceway Park want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” stated the post. “After 34 years with the best co workers fans and drivers, we have decided not to open in the 2025 season. We will see what the future holds at a later date. Thank you everyone for all your kindness and support over the years.”
The track hosted many divisions in 2024, including races for Legend Cars as part of the Ohio Valley Legend Car Series.
“Sad news on this Friday. Tough to see this popular stop on the tour go,” stated a post on the OVLCS page. “We hope we will be able to get back on track at PRP some day.”
