Drivers Having to Choose Between Track Championship or INEX National Championship

Driver Deciding Between Two Championship Trophies

With the release of all four major Nationals dates and locations by INEX before the calendar flips from 2024 to 2025, drivers and teams can make their plans of where they are going to race next year before heading to the national events. However, some drivers are having to choose to go for either their local track championship or the INEX National title, and not both.

The INEX Nationals events are the final piece of the INEX points puzzle to determine the season champions across the entire country. The Bandolero Nationals will be at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) September 12-13, Legend Car Road Course World Finals at Dominion Raceway (VA) September 26-28, Legend Car Dirt Nationals at Nodak Speedway (ND) October 9-11, and the Legend Car Asphalt Nationals at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (NV) October 23-25.

Prior to these dates being announced this past week, many tracks across the country had already released their 2025 season dates, with many tracks having local races at their track scheduled the same day as the now-released Nationals dates.

Legends Nation reached out to multiple tracks to see if they were altering their season schedule so their local drivers can still compete for the local track points championship as well as represent their state and track at the INEX Nationals. Some indicated they might shift their local track races for those conflicting dates to non-points events, and others indicated they allow a drop or two for their drivers so they can miss dates without being penalized. However, many of the tracks LN spoke to stated they will not change anything with their schedule. Two tracks told LN their local drivers usually never go to the Nationals due to travel distance, so they are not worried about a date confliction.

Prior to the start of the 2025 season, drivers and teams that are wanting to race for their local track championship as well as the INEX National championship will need to check with their track if there are date conflictions to understand what they are doing and what decisions they have to make in planning their race dates.

Legends Nation will continue to follow this story, and may list tracks and INEX Nationals conflictions.
