The gossip and rumors that fly around the world of Legend Car and Bandolero racing is always interesting, with some being true, some somewhat true, and others being completely false. A lot of those rumors end up on the desk of Legends Nation, including the below, so we directly asked U.S. Legend Cars International and INEX about them, which ones are true, and which are not.
There were five rumors specifically that LN heard while at the 2025 Summer Shootout Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) this season to date. They were the following:
Rumor 1: Bandoleros will be phased out in the next few years from manufacturing and INEX Racing Series sanctioning.
Rumor 2: Legend Cars were going to be altered, whether chassis wise, power, or other, to then allow younger drivers to race them (to take place of the Bandolero phase out mentioned in rumor one).
Rumor 3: USLCI is in development of or currently building a Late Model chassis to be a mid-range option for drivers coming out of Legends before going up Pro Late Models or Super Late Models.
Rumor 4: SMI is looking for a buyer to sell USLCI / INEX to, and there have been offers to buy already.
Rumor 5: The Summer Shootout may be shutting down within the next few years, or continue on but not be at Charlotte Motor Speedway, including an option to move it to Bowman Gray Stadium.
For these five rumors, we received the following response from INEX.
“There is no validity to any of these rumors,” responded Josh Roller, Communications Manager for U.S. Legend Cars International and INEX.
