Team Release –
Australia will be represented by its largest-ever team at the upcoming 2025 Legend Car Road Course World Finals in the USA. The international event will be held at Dominion Raceway in Thornburg, Virginia, from September 26-28, 2025.
The Ward Motorsport effort is organised and led by driver US-based Australian driver Lachlan Ward, who has spent the year racing and working on Legend Cars in North America. The trip represents a significant undertaking for the Australian contingent, which will test their skills against top drivers from the US and around the world.
“It has been a really exciting year for myself, working on Legend Cars and racing cars at tracks all across North America such as Daytona and Las Vegas is something I never thought I would be able to do,” said Ward.
“I have learnt a lot from Donny St. Ours and am really excited to combine our knowledge for these Australian drivers coming over for the Road Course World Finals. Askr, Rob, and Nathan are drivers who I have either worked with, raced with, or have huge respect for as a driver, and most importantly are people I call my mates.”
“I am looking forward to having another crack at the World Finals after the ups and downs from last year. I have learnt a lot since being here and I am coming more prepared than before. I am really excited to see what these drivers can do under the Ward Motorsport banner as we take on the World’s Best at the end of September. It is going to be big!”
Ward, a back-to-back Australian and New South Wales Legend Car champion represented Australia at the World Finals last year before basing himself in the US to continue to hone his skills.
The team, competing under the Ward Motorsport banner, includes seasoned racers Rob Hogan, Nathan Predo, and Askr Sendall.
Rob Hogan, from [Queanbeyan, NSW], commented:
“Racing has been a significant part of my life, with 25 years of karting experience under my belt. My introduction to Legend Cars about four years ago opened up new avenues for excitement. The combination of thrilling competition and exceptional cars that are a joy to drive has been a winning formula. The chance to compete in the US, facilitated by Ward Motorsport, was an offer I couldn’t refuse, and I’m eager to see how American racing stacks up.”
Nathan Predo, from [Newcastle, NSW], said:
“Racing at the Legend Car World Finals in the U.S. is the ultimate way to bring in my 40th. I’ve been building and racing cars my whole life — from VL Turbos on the street to national-level circuits back home in Australia. This isn’t just a race, it’s a statement. I’m coming over to represent where I’m from, throw down with the best, and celebrate four decades of living life flat out. I didn’t fly halfway across the world to play it safe — I’m here to make it count.”
Askr Sendall, from [Douglas Park, NSW], shared his excitement:
“For the US trip, I’m really looking forward to seeing what the competition is like and the atmosphere compared to Australia and seeing how they do things in general. I am also excited to see all the different tracks and scenery, and seeing the difference in how they set up the cars. The trip is going to be an awesome experience and I can’t wait to see how I go in the races. I’m looking forward to also having family and friends who live in America be able to watch me race in person.”
Legend Cars are 5/8-scale replicas of American automobiles from the 1930s and 1940s. Powered by 860cc MT09 Yamaha motorcycle engine, these lightweight vehicles are known for producing close, action-packed racing, making them one of the most popular grassroots motorsport categories worldwide.
The team will be competing on Dominion Raceway’s 2-mile (3.2 km) road course, a technical circuit known for its elevation changes and demanding corners that will be a true test of driver skill.
