Tucson Speedway Named the Host Track for the 2027 Legend Car Asphalt Nationals

2027 Legend Car Asphalt Nationals at Tucson Speedway

INEX Racing Series has announced today the 2027 Legend Car Asphalt Championship Nationals will occur at Tucson Speedway in Arizona, November 11 – 13. This will be the first time the Championship Nationals will take place at the Arizona facility, and Legends Nation will be at the event with our signature LN Event Coverage.

Known as the “‘Action Track Built for Speed,” Tucson Speedway is a 3/8ths mile paved oval with progressive banking, from 12 degrees to 24 degrees.

Earlier this year, the 14th-annual Chilly Willy event at Tucson Speedway was announced, along with the entire 2027 schedule featuring multiple dates for Legends and Bandoleros. The Chilly Willy will take place January 14 – 17, featuring INEX Racing Series national points races for Legends ahead of the official start to the 2027 points season (full schedule on the LN website in the schedules section), and just yesterday, CARS Tour West announced their season opener for their Southwest tour will take place during the event. Legends Nation will also be at the Chilly Willy 2027 with LN Event Coverage.

WMI Racing is the official U.S. Legend Cars International dealer for the state of Arizona, which just launched a brand-new website for parts, support, and more. JD White and WMI Racing provides trackside services and parts at tracks across the state.

Additional details will be announced in the future.

Legend Car Asphalt Championship Nationals Visits Tucson Speedway for the First Time in 2027

HARRISBURG, N.C. (October 1, 2026) For the first time in event history, the 36th INEX Legend Car Asphalt Championship Nationals will head to the Arizona desert, as Tucson Speedway hosts the annual championship showdown, November 11th-13th, 2027.

Across the previous 35 editions, including 2026, Asphalt Nationals has ventured west of the Mississippi River just 13 times. Eleven of those trips have taken the event to The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway since 2001, along with Dodge City Raceway hosting in 2002 and Elko Speedway in 2008. Tucson Speedway will now become only the second track west of the Rocky Mountains — and the 15th venue overall — to host Legend Car racing’s annual asphalt championship weekend.

“Tucson Speedway is excited to hold this big event for the first time.  The INEX Racing Series and U.S. Legend Cars put on great racing at the ‘Action Track Built for Speed,’” said Shelly McGriff, General Manager for Tucson Speedway. “Arizona has nice weather and is a great place to visit during the wintertime and we hope to see you all here for this great event!”

Tucson Speedway has long been a favorite destination for Legend Car competitors. Along with the division’s annual appearance during the Chilly Willy 150 weekend, the Arizona oval has continued to build a strong connection with Legend Car racing, making Tucson a natural choice to host one of the biggest weekends on the INEX calendar. The 2027 edition of the Chilly Willy 150 will be January 15th-17th for competitors looking for time on track, with all feature races counting towards 2027 INEX national points.

“When looking at the map, we had in our mind to find somewhere we hadn’t been to in a while, or never gone before with Legend Car Asphalt Championship Nationals, and our eyes landed on Tucson,” said Brittany Beck, Events Manager for INEX Racing Series. “Tucson Speedway has been a major supporter of Legend Cars, emphasized by its expanded schedule in both local racing and the Chilly Willy 150. INEX and U.S. Legend Cars International are proud to have Tucson on our roster of over 150 race tracks!”

Championship weekend will begin with pre-competition activities on Wednesday, November 10th, before cars hit the track for practice on Thursday, November 11th. The intensity will build Friday, November 12th with final practice, qualifying, and heat racing before everything is decided during championship feature racing on Saturday, November 13th.

“It will be a fresh look for Legend Car Asphalt Championship Nationals, for both West and East Coast drivers who descend upon southern Arizona next November,” said Beck.

Additional event details and the complete weekend schedule will be announced at a later date.
