288 Legend Car Masters division Asphalt drivers raced during the 2024 INEX season. Today Kevin Rollins was officially announced as the 2024 National Champion.
Rollins entered the Legend Car Asphalt Nationals in October as the only driver with a perfect score of 1900. Kevin Nowak and Scott Moseley were tied in points, just 12 back of Rollins. In a race that took forever to finish, Nowak initially finished fifth with Rollins in 10th while Moseley crossed the line first in the feature. If that would have stuck, Moseley would have been the champion with 1988 points, followed by Rollins at 1978 and Nowak at 1976. However, Moseley’s car was too light across the scales, disqualifying him, dropping him to seventh in the standings. INEX had to check, double check, and triple check to make sure of the points. Nowak ended up with 1979 points with Rollins plus one at 1980, making Rollins the 2024 season points champion. Nowak was second in points, followed by Joshua Mullins, Darrell Lee Stewart, and Bill Plemons.
