LN Exclusive: Legends and Bandoleros Might Race at the New Ten Tenths Motor Club

Ten Tenths Motor Club

Legends Nation has learned INEX might consider holding an event or multiple events at the new Ten Tenths Motor Club in the future for both Legend Cars and Bandoleros.

In February, 2024, it was announced the 2024 Legend Car Road Course World Finals would take place on the new road course track across the street from Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) in November. However, a few months later in July, the World Finals were moved to VIRginia International Raceway’s Patriot Course due to construction continuing at the facility, which later was named Ten Tenths Motor Club.

This week, with the publicity surrounding the now-finished Ten Tenths Motor Club due to their Heritage Invitational April 3 – 5, Legends Nation checked back in with INEX to see if they are considering holding some races there in the future.

“With the Ten Tenths Motor Club now open and with the level of interest our drivers in the local area have in road course racing, should the opportunity arise, INEX would consider the circuit as a potential option to hold future events,” said Josh Roller, Communications Manager for INEX. “While we like to be optimistic, right now the opportunity to hold discussions for any potential event has not arrived and there is no timetable set for any discussions to be held.”

With the cautiously-optimistic message, LN wondered if Bandoleros would be considered as well, considering they weren’t a part of the World Finals plans.

“There are many Bandolero drivers who enjoy road course racing and others whose preferred introduction to Bandolero racing is on a road course,” explained Roller. “If INEX schedules an event at the Ten Tenths Motor Club, or any road course, our wish would be to include Bandoleros.”

The reason Bandoleros weren’t included in the initial plan to race there in 2024 was simple: safety.

“Bandoleros weren’t included on the original 2024 Road Course World Finals schedule set for the Ten Tenths Motor Club as a precaution. With what was supposed to be the first time INEX used the Ten Tenths Motor Club, we wanted to make sure our focus was on the Legend Car competitors, giving them plenty of on-track time for road course championship national event preparations. Additionally, we wanted to be sure there was a configuration that would be acceptable for Bandoleros to compete on before placing them on an official schedule.”

With the door open, which configuration would Legends and Bandoleros use? The full circuit is 1.7 miles, the short course 1.1 miles, and the inner loop is 0.567 miles. Roller told LN it would depend on testing results.

“That is an unknown at this time. Like any course with multiple configurations, we’d want to select the configuration that creates the best racing for Legends and Bandoleros. Those decisions won’t be made until after the opportunity to test all three configurations takes place. I believe most competitors would like to run the full 1.7-mile configuration, but the final decision will have to wait until testing is completed.”

LN reached out to representatives of Ten Tenths Motor Club about the possibility of INEX Legends and Bandoleros racing at their facility, which is a joint venture between Speedway Motorsports Inc. (parent company of INEX) and Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. We will post an update once we receive a response.
