The Future of Elko Speedway is Officially Secure: MEGA Properties Acquires Historic Track

Elko Speedway Mega Properties

MEGA Properties / Elko Speedway (MN) Release –

Elko New Market, MN – In a move that cements the future of one of the Midwest’s most iconic short tracks, Elko Speedway has been officially sold to MEGA Properties —a powerful coalition of accomplished business leaders, investors, and consultants. At the helm of MEGA is a name that resonates deeply within the racing community: Jaycen Brockhouse.

This transition marks a monumental new chapter for the historic 3/8-mile NASCAR-sanctioned oval, which has been a staple of affordable family fun, hard-nosed racing, and high-energy entertainment since 1965. ELKO! is proud to host one of the most anticipated annual events on the ARCA Menards Series calendar, drawing national attention and showcasing the future stars of NASCAR. The Speedway also anchors the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series, serving as a proving ground for emerging talent throughout the region.

But ELKO! is more than just big-name events—it’s deeply rooted in grassroots racing, featuring competitive divisions like the INEX-sanctioned Bandoleros and Legends, the thrilling Power Stocks, Thunder Cars, and Late Models, and the MQMRA quarter midget program, which gives young drivers their first taste of racing on the same property that hosts national touring series.

Add to that the wild spectacle of Eve of Destruction®, intense side-by-side racecar battles, and a fan-favorite on-site drive-in theater, and it’s clear why ELKO! holds such a unique and beloved place in the hearts of race fans across the Midwest.

“This isn’t just a purchase—it’s a promise,” said Jaycen Brockhouse. “A promise to preserve the history, build on the success, and protect a place that means so much to so many people.”

A Family Tradition

The Brockhouse name is no stranger to ELKO! or the racing world. Jaycen began his career karting in Brainerd, MN before dominating the Legend Car scene in the late 2000’s—winning championships at both ELKO! Speedway and Raceway Park in 2009. After stepping away from driving to grow his business ventures, he remained quietly influential in the racing community through his family’s Great North Legends program, where his younger brothers Ayden and Ayrton have successfully championed on both the local and national stages. Jaycen’s sister Kailey experienced her first employment at the Speedway in a variety of roles during her high school years, who is now a mother and a successful national ad agency executive. The Brockhouse family’s recent purchase of Tomah Sparta Speedway in Wisconsin served as a clear signal of their long-term vision for grassroots racing. That acquisition laid the groundwork for what has now become a full-circle moment: keeping Elko Speedway into a family deeply entrenched in racing and committed to its preservation.

One of the key partners in this venture is Pat Flynn, Founder and CEO of Eternity Homes. A well-known leader in the Twin Cities home-building industry, Pat brings decades of business acumen and strategic insight into the group. Eternity Homes is a true family-run enterprise, with his three children—Nick, Jackie, and Jessica—each serving in executive roles. Pat’s connection to the racing world is equally strong; his grandson, Christopher, has been a regular competitor in the Bandolero class at Elko Speedway and at many national events. His involvement adds both business depth and racing passion to the diverse and experienced team leading Elko Speedway into the future.

A Track Secured for Generations to Come

The most important news for fans and racers alike: ELKO! Speedway is here to stay. The facility will remain a racetrack indefinitely, with no plans to close, redevelop, or repurpose the grounds. The MEGA Properties is not here to reinvent Elko Speedway—but to protect and enhance it. “Our vision is to honor what makes Elko Speedway GREAT while positioning it for an even stronger future,” said Brockhouse. “We’re here to build on its legacy, not replace it.”

No Disruption, Only Expansion

Operations at ELKO! Speedway will continue seamlessly, with all 2025 scheduled events proceeding as planned. The new owners intend to build on the track’s already successful format, with enhanced infrastructure, expanded event offerings, and a commitment to both racers and fans.

While detailed announcements will follow, including upcoming driver meetings and development plans, fans, drivers, and teams are encouraged to follow the track’s official ELKO! Facebook page and website for upcoming announcements, including a driver meeting where many of these changes will be introduced.

Honoring the Legacy

Tom Ryan and his family have owned and operated Elko Speedway since the early 2000s, transforming the facility from its modest roots into the premier motorsports and entertainment destination in the Midwest. Originally opened in 1965 as a small local track, Elko has grown to become a nationally recognized short track, known for its top-tier facilities, fan experience, and community involvement. Under the Ryan family’s leadership, the Speedway has seen major investments in infrastructure, technology, and entertainment offerings, attracting fans and competitors from across the country.

Thanks to the vision and dedication of the Ryan family, Elko Speedway has become a cornerstone of American short track racing

“We want to thank and honor everyone who made Elko Speedway what it is today,” added Brockhouse. “From the original founders to the Ryan family, we are deeply honored and humbled to carry forward the tradition, legacy, and spirit they have cultivated. We hope to make them proud as we guide ELKO! into its next chapter.”

Under MEGA Properties, the vision is clear: Preserve the past. Strengthen the present. Build the future.

Elko Speedway’s future is not just bright, it’s officially secured.
