On August 5, 2011, Legends and Bandoleros raced at Bowman Gray Stadium (NC) under threatening skies. Unfortunately, at the start of the Legends Young Lions feature, as the drivers completed the first lap, heavy rains fell, causing a 14-car pile-up in turn one. Within the wreck, Jeffrey Stanton had a lazy flip over onto his side. He and all the drivers were OK. The race (and rest of the night’s action) was canceled due to the weather.
