Today, Legends Nation (“LN”) has announced the premier Legend Cars and Bandolero news and informational website will be on hand providing event coverage of the 2024 Bandolero Nationals, which takes place Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7, at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This will be the first time the Bandolero Nationals will take place in Iowa, and only the second time it has been held in the Midwest. The 27th Nationals event at Hawkeye Downs Speedway will be the 12th different track to host the Nationals since 1998, the first year they were held.
The Bandolero Nationals at Hawkeye Downs Speedway will be the first Nationals event LN will cover since founder and owner, Jason Stix Buckley, reacquired ownership of the website and relaunched it in 2023.
“This is a special event for Legends Nation to cover,” said Jason Stix Buckley, founder and owner of Legends Nation. “When I relaunched LN last year, the initial focus was to get news and results from across the nation and across the world highlighted on the site and social media accounts,” said Buckley. “While the goal was to get back to tracks for our unique style of event coverage, we needed to crawl before we walked. This year we started going to a few events at Houston Motorsports Park (TX) and just covered the championship round of the 2024 Summer Shootout Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Now we are excited to head to our first Nationals event since the site relaunched.”
For Buckley, the trip to Iowa has a personal connection.
“While I started Legends Nation in 2007 (under the 51 Sports branding) when living in North Carolina, I grew up in a small town of 900 people in Iowa, just an hour and a half East of Hawkeye Downs Speedway,” explained Buckley. “I am still an Iowa Hawkeye, and going back to the state where I grew up for the Bandolero Nationals this year is very special to me.”
As seen during the Houston Motorsports Park event coverages on June 22 and August 3, as well as the Summer Shootout Series Championship round at Charlotte Motor Speedway on July 30, Legends Nation will have video and photo coverage from the event, showcasing the racing action, the winners, and some extra bonus videos highlighting drivers in the Nation (note: coverage will not be live video streaming).
