THE CAITLIN CLARK RECORD-BREAKING SPOT
Just 30 minutes from Hawkeye Downs Speedway where Bandolero drivers will race in the Nationals event, basketball star Caitlin Clark played for the Iowa Hawkeyes at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, where she broke the women’s NCAA scoring record in February 2024 with a “logo three” as well as breaking the 54-year overall (mens and women’s) NCAA scoring record a few weeks later. LN owner Jason “Stix” Buckley was able to get access to the arena to show the most-famous spot currently in sports, which has been memorialized by the team with a permanent logo on the floor (direct YT video link).

NEW TRACK RECORD HOLDER: CAMDEN “KILLA CAM” TRUETT
Bandolero Bandits driver Camden “Killa Cam” Truett set the Bandolero qualifying record at Hawkeye Downs Speedway (IA) during the 2024 Bandolero Nationals with a lap of 15.089 seconds on Friday. LN briefly talked to him on Saturday while he was in his ride about to hit the track again.

Mike Gordon had set up race cars for years, and picked up the Bandolero Bandits National Championship this year with Wyatt Coffey. He talked to LN at the 2024 Bandolero Nationals at Hawkeye Downs Speedway (IA) on what it means to him to help racers.
KRIS EAST – REDHEAD RACING
The Redhead Racing team earned the 2024 Bandolero Outlaws Championship with driver TJ Moon. Kris East from the team told LN what it means to work with TJ and get the championship once again for the set-up organization.
BONUS: GERALD WHITE JR, THE FLIP 13 YEARS AGO, AND HIS SON’S RACING
LN Exclusive: In February, 2011, Gerald White Jr. was collected in a Legends wreck that sent him flipping through the air, knocking him out. He then had a seizure in the car, and his father being heartbroken seeing his son in an ambulance, pulled the plug on his racing career. 13 years later, LN caught up with GW Jr about the wreck, his recovery, and making the decision to go back racing with his son, Gerald White III in Bandoleros with Josh Williams Motorsports as well as Redhead Racing.
