Former Legends Driver Chase Elliott Wins PASS Race at North Wilkesboro

The famed North Wilkesboro Speedway (NC) came back to life after 14 years on Saturday, September 4th, with the running of the PASS South "Labor Day Classic 200" Super Late Model race. 14-year-old Chase Elliott, who graduated from Legends Car racing last season, put his name in the record books as the first winner of a major touring series at the track by winning the event. Winners of the features were Dawson Cram (Bandolero Beginner Bandits), Carson Ferguson (Bandolero Bandits), John Holleman IV (Bandolero Outlaws), Sean Shalvoy (Legends Young Lions), Greg Lang (Legends Semi-Pro), Sam McAulay (Legends Pro) and Tim Ladyga (Legends Masters).
Unruh and O'Hara Claim Main Victories at North Pole Speedway Thursday

Legends and Bandolero racers headed to North Pole Speedway (AK) on Thursday, September 2nd, for the first of three days of racing action during the weekend, which is the season finale events at the track. In the Bandoleros, Katie Hoskin won both heat races while Nik Unruh won the feature. In Legends competition, Dave Behling and Sean O'Hara split the heat-race wins with O'Hara claiming the main victory. For complete results, click here.
Wall Stadium Cancels Remaining 2010 Schedule Until Further Notice; Turkey Derby XXXVII in Question

Facebook and other social media sources have been lighting up over the past 24 hours regarding Wall Stadium (NJ) closing down. On Friday, September 3rd, a notice on the track's website states that all racing has been cancelled until further notice, pending an official statement from management. A photo from the sign out front showing the notice is also on the website (photo can be seen here). Rumors have financial woes as the issue for the current status at the track. There is no word on how this will affect the Turkey Derby XXXVII, scheduled for November 26th and 27th.
Legends are a part of the weekend race program at Wall Stadium and were to be a part of the Turkey Derby once again. LegendsNation.com will post more on the situation at Wall once it becomes known.

Wild 'n Wacky Wednesday 9/1 Results from the Waterford Speedbowl

Waterford Speedbowl was in action Wednesday evening to close out its Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday season, crowning its final three champions. Charles Beal of Ledyard finished 10th in the Super X-Car to clinch the title, while the race was won by Preston’s Taylor-Marie Moran. Dan D’addario of Columbia came out on top of a wild X-Car race to take the win and the championship. Richard “Bubby” Brouwer of Waterford took the X-Modified win and championship, his second title in the division. Stonington teenager David Garbo Jr. won his second Legends Cars race in three weeks and Nick Sowa of Middletown took his fifth Bandolero win of the year. click here for the story and results

Greg Lang's Engine Seals Deemed Legal After Concord Protest

After Greg Lang won the Legends Semi-Pro division feature at Concord Speedway (NC) on Sunday, August 29th, his engine seals were protested, according to the INEX official at the track. It appeared that it was either Jake Morris or Chase Pistone, who sets up Morris' car, that protested the seals. On Tuesday afternoon, LN heard from Bruce Silver, father to Lang, who told LN that they got the engine back and all was good.

Atlanta Motor Speedway Considering Sunday, September 19th, Race for INEX National Points

Legends of Georgia sent out information on Monday, August 30th, that due to a scheduling conflict with Lanier National Speedway (GA), Atlanta Motor Speedway (GA) will not have Legends and Bandolero races on Saturday, September 18th. Instead, AMS is considering scheduling races for INEX national points on Sunday, September 19th, which is the only day available to race at the track during the month. By racing on Sunday, this will also allow drivers that are points chasing to race at Anderson Motor Speedway (SC) on Friday (Legends only), Lanier National Speedway on Saturday and Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday. If this takes place, it would not be a part of the Georgia Winter Series, but it is for INEX points. Lucas Montgomery Wins Friday Legends Car Race at Path Valley

From Path Valley Speedway (PA) PR: In one of the closest finishes you will ever see, Lucas Montgomery of York, PA passed Geremey Sheaffer on the final straightaway to win the Legend Car feature by inches. Montgomery started second and led the first thirteen laps. Sheaffer slowly reeled in Montgomery and used the high groove to take the lead on lap fourteen. Montgomery stayed on Sheaffer’s back bumper, drove low exiting turn four on the final lap, and won the drag race to the finish line. Nate Fisher was right behind in third while Scott Gobrecht finished fourth and Scott Houdeshell rebounded from an early spin to finish fifth. Sheaffer and Houdeshell claimed heat race wins.
