INEX Announces 2024 Rulebook Changes

On Monday, December 18, INEX announced a series of rule changes for the 2024 racing season, which goes into effect on March 1, 2024. The rulebook changes are below.

Legend Car & Bandolero:

  • The circle track points season starts February 12th and ends October 6th.
  • All INEX memberships will be processed through the Pit Pay app.
  • Young Lions, Semi-Pro, Master, Pro, Bandit & Outlaws are recognized as INEX points classes.
    • *Beginner Bandolero, Rookie, Charger, etc. classes are not INEX points classes and will not receive inex points. 
  • Only INEX points classes will count towards the minimum five competitor requirement (ghost driver rule).
  • The Antigravity ATX-30 battery is legal for use in the Bandolero car and the Legend Car at all INEX sanctioned events.
  • The AFCO Legend Car shocks and the AFCO Bandolero car shocks are legal for use at all INEX sanctioned events.

Legend Car:

  • The two year maximum for remaining in the Young Lions class will change to three years.
  • Young Lions, Semi-Pro, Master & Pro drivers, when racing in the same race, will be awarded separate INEX national points by class.
  • Only the winners of regional qualifier races (by class) will be eligible for provisionals at the national championship races.
  • The minimum Hoosier asphalt tire & wheel combination weight (using the aero or bassett “light” wheel) will be changed to 22.5 lbs. The minimum Hoosier asphalt tire & wheel combination weight (using the standard wheel) will be changed to 25.5 lbs.

Additionally, INEX posted on their social media after posting the rule changes that the 2024 Chilly Willy event January 19-21 at Tucson Speedway in Arizona is an INEX-approved weekend with the races counting towards the national points championship.
