From LegendsNation.com’s founder and owner, Jason Stix Buckley –
Hello to the Nation! We are a few weeks into 2024, and I wanted to take a moment to address some things and let you all know where we are at with LN.
First, 2023 was a completely successful relaunch of LN after I reacquired ownership. We published approximately 1000 stories and results to the website since April of last year, and nearly 1300 pieces of content on each of our three main social media channels (Facebook, X, and Instagram). The photos, videos, stories, and updates have been read, liked, and shared many times over. Thank you for supporting LN and our efforts to ramp up coverage of the sport we all love.
Heading into 2024, I was planning on personally attending the Winter Showdown and Winter Nationals in Florida for some cool, new personal coverage at track. However, at the end of 2023, that illness that spread across the country grabbed me, and took me down pretty hard for over a month. Due to this, I wasn’t able to work on acquiring sponsorship for our trip to Florida next month, so unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. However, the good news is the Winter Nationals will be live online broadcast through USLCI TV, and we will work with both week events to publish content and results as it happens. Also, we might have some additional content for both events through other partners, media stringers, or drivers and teams that will fill in what I won’t be able to acquire personally.
Another side effect of being a bit out of commission for a bit was the 2023 Salute to Track Champions images and posts. Those will continue this month and into February as we will not leave anyone out of getting recognition! Special thanks to RPM Pro-Formance for sponsoring the salutes!
Even though things have been a bit light on the website and social, there has been a lot of work behind the scenes as I prepared the website and social for 2024. There are some amazing, new features that will be added throughout the year that I cannot wait for you all to see. 2023 was a rebuild year while 2024 I am planning to blow the website and social out huge as LN continues to be the leader in Legend Cars and Bandolero news and information online. This will also include some media stringers (journalists) at tracks on behalf of LN, myself attending some events, and loads of information and recognition on the website of the drivers, teams, tracks, and series within our world of motorsports.
We like to also remind everyone that Legends Nation is an independently owned and operated news, informational, and promotional source, covering Legend Cars and Bandolero racing. LN is not affiliated with U.S. Legend Cars International, INEX, or Speedway Motorsports, LLC. This means that while we do have a great “working relationship” with USLCI / INEX and communicate with them regularly, they do not dictate or demand any types of coverage on our website and socials. We also will continue to cover any Legends and Bandolero events, regardless whether it is INEX sanctioned or not. That being said, I have always recognized that as news media, we do have to “tell the story” of what is happening in the Nation, however, as I have had a passion towards this portion of motorsports since the 90s, LN will never become a bash website or bash social place. Yes, we will touch on the controversies that do occur, whether driver, track, team, or series issues, however, our focus is to generally positively support the sport. Save the hate for others!
While the majority of funding for the relaunch and continued updating on LN was placed squarely on my shoulders, assistance in 2023 also occurred due to some of our amazing sponsors and advertising partners. As we continue to ramp up the sections on the website and information we post across the site and socials, we will be looking for additional sponsors and advertising partners for 2024. We will have various options available, so please feel free to contact myself or the site via the information on the contact page or on our socials. Also, please make sure to show our supporters some love as they love the sport and what we do promoting it on LN.
A couple other items I wanted to mention.
I have been asked if we will resume at-track live pay-per-view coverage through the Legends Nation brand. Simple answer is: no. The 2015 to 2022 era of Legends Nation (under different ownership) went that direction with the LN TV addition. Since, USLCI launched their USLCI TV live streaming service, and other services like FloRacing and Racing America live stream racing events that include Legends and Bandolero racing. When I reacquired LN in 2023, I decided to work with (and have developed great partnerships with) the live streaming broadcast companies. LN fully supports them as they are the experts, and we will continue to cross promote with them for Legends and Bandolero live streaming viewing.
We have had a lot of requests for new LN decals for those across the nation (and internationally) to show support for Legends Nation. I appreciate everyone wanting to proudly display our logo and be a part of the Nation. We have a few options we are looking into for distribution of the decals, including having decal companies near tracks or in series areas print, and have distributed by individuals or dealers in various areas. This includes UK Legends, as they have become a huge supporter of us here based in the United States.
The other thing that we hear a lot about is wanting Legends Nation merch, as in shirts and hoodies. We have been exploring options for 2024, and hopefully will have something firmed up in the coming months. Merch, as many know, takes a lot of funding to put together on the front end, so we are working to make that happen.
As always, I love hearing suggestions for what people would like to see on LN in 2024 and beyond. So please feel free to reach out and let us know.
I am excited to show you all some new things that will be added this year, and I appreciate every one of you for supporting Legends Nation since I launched it in 2007!
