In a move similar to NASCAR’s rule of yellow bumper tape or coloring for rookie drivers, the East Coast Legend Series has mandated the same procedure for 2024 racers.
According to a Facebook post by the series, rookie drivers will be required to run a yellow bumper, or yellow tape on a bumper, to signify their rookie status.
“East Coast Legend Series ROOKIE drivers will be required to have yellow rear bumpers for 2024, beginning with Saturday’ season-opener at Lincoln Speedway,” stated the post. “The rear bumper may be painted yellow or wrapped in yellow tape. The top picture shows Kirk Martin’s bumper, and the bottom picture depicts Allen Fiddesop’s bumper. Either is correct. The minimum requirement is for yellow to be displayed on the outside of the rear bumper from rear horn to rear horn or bumper tab to bumper tab. The yellow bumpers will be required of rookie drivers for the balance of the 2024 season.”
The East Coast Legend Series is owned by the Friese family, and was formerly known as the Central PA Legends Series. For more on the series, visit their Facebook page here.
