INEX Issues Rules Update Bulletin Regarding Throttle Body and ECU Component Tampering

INEX 2024 rules update for engines

On Friday, a bulletin from INEX was issued and circulated across social media regarding an update to rules regarding throttle body and ECU component tampering.

Sent from Scott Reinhardt, INEX General Manager, the rule update is No. 6142024-1, which states the following:

“As of June 14, 2024, The following will be added to the Legend Car Engine Specification Rules XJ1250 / FZ09 / MT09 “Sealed” (Page 76 of the 2024 INEX Rulebook):

Any driver found in competition with modifications to the FZ09 or MT09 Throttle Body casting, the internal components of the throttle body or the ECU will be issued a 12 month suspension from all INEX Sanctioned Events.

LN confirmed with INEX the bulletin spread online is legit.

It is unclear at this time if there was an issue INEX found or if this is proactive.
