From East Coast Legend Series PR –
August 10, 2024 (Mill Hall, PA)-Chambersbug, PA’s Devin Friese pulled the “double-down” Saturday at Clinton County Speedway as he claimed Victory in both $300 to win, 15-lap East Coast Legend Series features.
Twenty-two (22) cars took the green flag in the first feature that saw Seth Kearchner lead the opening laps. On lap four, Colton Friese grabbed the top spot. Kearchner was then overtaken by his son, Lincoln Kearchner, and Devin Friese. By lap seven, Colton Friese continued his lead with Lincoln Kearchner, Devin Friese, Seth Kearchner and Scott Houdeshell in hot pursuit.
Those five ran tightly bunched in a hotly-contested affair until a dramatic lead change occurred on lap 13. Coming off turn two, Devin Friese moved to the outside of his nephew, Colton, and grabbed the lead in turn three. On the final lap in turn four, Colton Friese spun, costing him an apparent second-place finish as Devin Friese marched to the checkers to claim Victory.
Lincoln Kearchner finished second with his dad, Seth, claiming third. Houdeshell continued his strong season and took fourth, and Logan Jones ran strong and finished fifth. Vincent Wenrich had a good race to finish sixth. Likewise, Justin Wagaman ran solidly to take seventh. Kelby Friese claimed eighth. Darren Lucas finished ninth and Dave Benner nailed down 10th position.
An invert of 12 for the second feature sent Devin Friese to the 12-starting position. This allowed Eric Hurst to take the pole with Grady McGrew starting on Hurst’s outside. McGrew wrestled the lead away from Hurst to lead the opening lap.
McGrew, searching for his first-career win, ran strong and led the first nine laps. Devin Friese, however, would not be denied on this night as he charged to the lead on lap 10. Friese would hold the lead and claim Victory in the second feature. McGrew held on to finish second. Seth Kearchner, who started 10th, charged his way through the field to finish third. Houdeshell came from the ninth spot to take fourth. Colton Friese, forced to start 21st after his spin in the opening race, ran very strong to round out the top five.
Lucas continued his solid night and finished sixth. Wagaman had another strong run to take seventh. Scott Spidle claimed eighth, Dalton Friese finished ninth and Kelby Friese rounded out the top-10. Heat race winners earlier in the evening were Colton Friese, Seth Kearchner and Devin Friese
