Team F4V Media Release –
• Penultimate event of racing season this weekend for Nathan Anthony • Inaugural ‘USA Snetterton 300’ to host Rds 11 and 12 of campaign • Team F4V driver targeting consistent points in Masters Class battle |
Norfolk’s Snetterton 300 Circuit hosts the penultimate racing meeting of the Legends Cars Championship season this weekend, 7th/8th September, where category mainstay Nathan Anthony will be eyeing a big points haul in his quest for the Masters Class title. Always a popular destination for the Legends Cars, and this year forming part of the venue’s first ever ‘USA Snetterton 300’ event, rounds 11 and 12 of the 2024 campaign for the pocket rockets are guaranteed to deliver maximum excitement for the spectators expected to flock to the track. Nathan, who hails from Horley in Surrey, goes into this weekend’s action third in the Masters Class points battle and 12th in the overall Legends Cars Championship standings. With the season nearing its conclusion, he knows a highly consistent weekend is a prerequisite if he is to stay in the Masters title fight into the Oulton Park season finale later this month. As ever, the Team F4V driver will be piloting his trusty No.29 Se-Van which has long been one of the most popular entries in Legends Cars racing in the UK. There have been some terrific highlights this year, as well as some luckless misfortune too, and Nathan is as focused as ever on delivering a series of strong results over the six races which are scheduled – three on Saturday, three on Sunday. With just three rounds remaining over the course of the final two events of the season at Snetterton and Cheshire’s Oulton Park, the latter a single day race meeting, there are still lots of points to play for – especially with the championship finale now confirmed this year as carrying double points. First 4 Vans, Towergate Insurance, Blue Lizard, Blue Chip Warranty, Creative Funding Solutions, Moove and Mowermate-backed racer Nathan is presently 580 points shy of second in the Masters battle, and an additional 125 points adrift of Masters Class leader Peter Barrable. There are 200 points for a win at Snetterton, down to 20 points for 18th and 10 points for every other finisher. Remember though, anything can happen in Legends Cars racing – and it usually does – so just a couple of luckless races at Snetterton for his chief rivals could dramatically change the title picture. One thing is for sure, the Team F4V driver will continue pushing right to the end of the season. Nathan Anthony: “We’re heading to Snetterton off the back of a pretty strong showing at Knockhill a few weeks ago, we had good pace there and being the top scoring Masters driver on day one was great. Hopefully we can deliver similar this weekend, although you couldn’t get much more difference in the two circuits – Snetterton’s well over twice as long as Knockhill and a totally different challenge. “As ever, we’re so grateful to all of the sponsors who make the season possible and I really am determined to be as consistent as we can to close the points gap in the Masters. There’s some very tough competition out there, probably stronger than ever in Legends, but we’re up for it!” Legends Cars qualifying practice, grids are drawn by ballot rather than lap times, gets underway at 10.45 on Saturday, 7th September, with Heat One starting at 12.20, Heat Two at 14.05 and the round 11 Final commencing around 15.40. On Sunday, 8th September, a further practice will begin at 09.00 ahead of round 12 Heat One at 11.10, Heat Two at 13.15 and the Final at 15.35.
