Citrus County Speedway Loses Winter Nationals; Track Going Non-INEX Sanctioned in 2025 with Bandoleros

Citrus County Speedway (FL)

Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, Florida, who was the location for the 2024 Winter Nationals in February, announced Thursday they have lost the host location for the Winter Nationals.

In a message posted by the track on their Facebook page, they received a letter from INEX stating they will no longer be the host track for the five-day series. Additionally, the track stated they will continue racing Bandoleros in 2025 (not Legends), however, they will no longer race as an INEX-sanctioned track, meaning drivers that choose to race there will only race for track points, not INEX national points.

They also posted the certified letter they received by INEX, dated September 20, 2024.

INEX has not released what track will be the host track for the 2025 Winter Nationals.

BANDOLERO RACING TO CONTINUE TO BE FOCUS OF SPEEDWAY

INVERNESS (FL) – October 3, 2024 – Bandolero racing will continue to be a focus of Citrus County Speedway.

In abrupt move, US Legend Cars has terminated the Little Gator Motorsports Winter National agreement effective immediately which ultimately means Citrus County Speedway will no longer host INEX-sanctioned events.

“Citrus County Speedway never held the contract for the Winter Nationals,” Track Promoter William Ray said. “That contract was with Little Gator Motorsports and that agreement has been terminated.”

Little Gator Motorsports was notified in Notice of Termination on September 20, 2024.

While races at CCS will not be sanctioned events going forward, Ray said the racetrack will continue to support local Bandolero racing.

“We will continue to support the local Bandolero drivers and provide them a place to compete and improve their skills,” CCS Track Promoter William Ray said. “They are the future of our sport of auto racing.”
