Multiple Legends Cars Championship race winner Robert Barrable and his brother Peter Barrable, the reigning Legends Cars Elite Cup Masters Champion, will both be travelling to the USA mere days from now as the latest entries for the 2024 edition of the Legends Cars ‘World Finals’.
The Irish siblings, who over the past two years have become firm favourites in the Legends Cars Championship and Elite Cup, are absolutely relishing the World Finals which get underway next Friday, 15th November, and conclude on Sunday, 17th November, at Virginia International Raceway.
Marking the 28th staging of the World Finals, this year’s event will feature a fantastic entry of drivers from the UK and Ireland – all of whom will undoubtedly be massively competitive against the best drivers from around the world.
Robert Barrable will run in the Pro category while Peter will contest the Masters class, and they will be run by Paul O’Brien’s squad as in the Legends Cars Championship – albeit with cars hired from Go Motorsport.
Reigning and two-time Legends Cars Champion Will Gibson was the first to confirm his participation in the World Finals, back in September, and he will be competing with the Go Motorsport team in the headline Pro class.
Legends Cars Elite Cup Champion Jack Parker will also be challenging for the Pro crown – he and Gibson reigniting their incredible 2024 battle – in a car fettled by Mickel Motorsport, with backing from K-Seal. Joining Parker is his UK team-mate Oli Schlup, who will mount a big challenge in the Semi-Pro category in a sister K-Seal car.
Last, but certainly not least, of the super six from the Legends Cars Championship is Tyler Read who enjoyed a sensational sophomore season this year. Ending the main Championship third in the standings and taking second overall in the Elite Cup, missing the title by a mere five points, Read will contest the Pro class.
Following a series of practice sessions at VIR next Friday, 15th November, where the UK and Irish contingent will begin on the back-foot against the American based competitors, the serious action gets underway on Saturday, 16th November, with final practice, qualifying practice and the Heats.
On Sunday, 17th November, the 20-lap Feature races for each class will all take place ahead of the crowning of the various category champions.
